Who we are
We’re Wim & Sam, the couple behind Bush and Bay. We grew up in Belgium, fell in love with Australia, and these days we proudly call it home, as Australian citizens with a funny European accent.
When we started, we had no idea what we were doing. We never camped, never driven on sand, and didn’t know what a wet season meant for a road trip. Over the past four years, we’ve driven more than 120,000 kilometres in different 4WD and camping setups, from remote outback tracks to some of the country’s most incredible coastline.
Everything you’ll find on this website is based on our own experiences. Every travel guide, itinerary, camping guide, map and blog article comes from places we’ve personally explored ourselves.
With Bush and Bay, our goal is simple: to help you plan your own 4WD camping adventure with honest, practical and detailed information that actually makes trip planning easier.
And because we started as outsiders, we know exactly what you don’t know yet, and what the locals forget to mention.
